ifm learning factory trains 20 new skilled workers

The automation company ifm continues to invest in the training and qualification of its own skilled workers. Twenty employees have completed a training program at the company's own learning factory and have now completed their training as ifm electronics specialists and IHK industrial electricians for devices and systems.
Since 2017, ifm has been offering its employees further training to become ifm electronics specialists at its production site in Tettnang. For the company, this means securing its future viability and retaining its own employees in the long term. The ifm electronics specialist qualification consists of three modules: basic training, advanced training, and application training. The topics covered range from the basics of electrical and automation technology to measurement technology. The training content is closely linked to specific products from the ifm portfolio. The training program consists of a total of 256 teaching units, with each module concluding with an exam. In the current training year, ifm is delighted to welcome twelve new specialists, all of whom have successfully passed their exams.
Eight specialists with IHK certification
Those who have already completed their training as electronics specialists also have the opportunity to follow up with training as an IHK industrial electrician for devices and systems. For one year, ifm employees prepare intensively for the external examination of the IHK Bodensee-Oberschwaben. In 2024, all eight examinees passed both the practical and theoretical examinations on their first attempt. They are now well prepared for new challenges within the company – and can also apply for new positions such as repair technician.
With its learning factory and close cooperation with the IHK Bodensee-Oberschwaben, ifm offers production employees with no or non-specialist training high-quality training at its own locations. The electronics specialist training program will be offered again in 2025, and there is already a long waiting list. The prerequisite for participation in the course is the basic electronics course, which starts on November 5, 2024, at ifm ecomatic in Kressbronn.
