International Breakfast: Exchange and Networking at THE SUMMIT

Recently, the International Breakfast of the International Office of the University of Siegen took place again – an established format that offers international students the opportunity to exchange ideas with alumni and experts from regional industry. The event, which took place in the inspiring environment of the Siegen high-tech center THE SUMMIT, not only served to network, but also offered valuable insights into various professional fields and career paths.
The International Office of the University of Siegen integrates this event into the "Fit in Siegen" project, which supports international students in networking in Siegen, getting to know the region and preparing specifically for their career entry. Events like these not only promote professional exchange, but also build a bridge between studies and practice.
A special highlight was the direct exchange with former students of the University of Siegen, who are now successfully involved in THE SUMMIT. They reported first-hand about their personal career paths, the challenges of entering the regional job market and the many opportunities that open up after graduation. Another highlight was the guided tour of the IT site at THE SUMMIT. The participants were given an exclusive insight into the modern infrastructure of this innovation location, which is characterized by its size, technical equipment and innovative strength.
Particularly enriching was the contribution of Dr. Alexander Hofmann (Managing Director of ifm statmath gmbh) and Ali Ajouz (Senior Data Scientist at ifm statmath gmbh), who reported on their personal experiences and gave practical tips on starting a career and developing careers in the region. They illustrated the opportunities for graduates of the University of Siegen in the regional economy and which skills are particularly in demand in practice.
