Can I use an Imperial Lead Screw yet work in metric?

I'm pondering buying some lead screws from the States (they're alot cheaper), which are Imperial, but I live in the UK & in the main we use metric (though I grew up with feet/inches but most of us converted along the way!)

I actually prefer working in millimetres & centimetres (my head works best in decimal as opposed to base 8, base 16 or base 32!)...so I was wondering, if I save myself a a bit of money importing an imperial lead screw, does Mach 3 allow me to still work in metric?

i'm aware that there's an option when first setting up Mach 3 to choose metric or imperial, but I'm uncertain of the impact of choosing metric if I had an imperial lead screw!

Yes, you just need to calculate the steps per mm of the screw.
