    HRT-160 on a TM-1

    Is anyone using this combination? I am just curious if the HRT-160 is a decent fit on the TM-1 or is it realy too big? If you have this combo and could post a couple of pics that would really help me decide.

    What are the X, Y, Z travels on a TM1 (I am too lazy to go the the Haas website.).

    You should be okay with that combination; I think you should be okay with a HRT210 on a TM1.

    Z travel is 16".

    You will be fine with the HRT160 and you probably could use the HRT210. I have several Super MiniMills equipped with HRT210s; these have a Z travel of 10 inches and the have the Z axis extension of 4 inches.

    I recommend the HRT210 because it has a brake with a much higher holding torque than the 160.

    I had a TM-1 with a HRT160B and it fit and worked perfectly. Just have to watch out for long tools in the toolchanger if your using the tailstock too.

    What is the size of the T-slots in this 160?

    The website just says theyre standard size. Do they mean standard 5/8 like a bridgeport?

    Also, what is the smallest bolt circle that will fit on the table?

    (Im trying to design a fixture to bolt on to an indexer we dont have yet )

    The T-slot details are as follows:
    Widths = .562" and .930"/.970"
    Depths = .375" and .735"/.765"

    They use standard 1/2-13 T-nuts

    Using standard T-nuts, the smallest bolt circle is:
    HRT160-3.92"
    HRT210-4.37"
    HRT310-6.00"
    HRT450-9.84"
    HRT600-9.84"
    Thanks,

    I was looking over the specifications for the HRT-210 and it looks to me like it projects almost 18" from the center table slot. I measured my TM-1P and I don't think it will clear the door with the table at Y0. The 160 should. I guess you could position it in the most rearward slot to get the clearance but then you only have 3" in Y left to the back side.

    Anyone using one in the enclosed TM-1P?

    I see Haas has the HRT series of tables available with the motor/gear box mounted on the back side. One of these would fit but they are more expensive and probably not as reliable.
