    Okuma horizontal purchase comparison

We started with a Haas VF2ss, then got three more, then went to a Doosan 400mm cat40 horizontal, then a Toyoda 400mm horizontal and two Toyoda verticals. We still have all of them and run all but one (A Haas that has 900K tool changes on it in 3 years and is starting to need repair every couple of weeks) 24 hrs a day 5 1/2 days a week. We want to step it a little and are considering an Okuma 400mm horizontal with the collision avoidance and several other options with a 15k spindle. This will be machining 7075 billet aluminum into firearms parts.

Since I am new to Okuma I am putting this out there. Is there anything we should be worried about with the control, machine or anything special to look out for? The Toyoda's have been great and I don't want to regret not getting another one but the Okuma has a better torque curve and we really make use of any high tec control options and probing with everything we do.

    1. Check Okuma offer specification very carefully. Addition of some function or optionl to Okuma after purchase could be very painful.
    2. CAS no sense if you run 3 axis machine.
    3. Training and service.
