    no tool in spindle

where do i tell the controller that the spindle is empty? its a 88hs controller. atc is the rotory slide in type. what happened was after a failed tool change, it think it still has the old tool, but it already put that away. i could get physical, but i'd much rather do it the easy way. TIA

The easiest way to reset atc : move turret to empty pocket and type SETTO.
This sets that pocket to tool #1. Then change tools until you are at the desired tool for #1 and then re-type SETTO again.

    Note :

To change tool you can either type M6T1, M6T2, M6T3, etc. ( in MDI mode)

    or

type TC,1 (in enter next command mode) and move the turret, then hit manual botton. This way is much faster when loading multiple tools, or use this command when cleaning the turret.

thx. that works. in a round about way.
i was hoping for a simplier way, like ct,0 as in current tool is empty, at the command line.
    thx for the reply.
