    Router and bit q's

Still trying to determine what I need to do the Joe's 2006 build. I have a Bosch 1617evs router, would that be good for this build? Any suggestions as to a different router? Also, where and what kind of bits do most use when making signs in wood and when making lithophanes? Thanks everyone for the help.

I think that's a great router, I use it on my machine. I use v-bits and straight bits for sign work mainly. You'd probably need small ball endmills or even tapered ball endmills for lithopane... I have a thread in the main DIY forum on different router bits and such.

As far as routers go I have a Hatachi m12vc that has spun 2 bearings so far. Nice router but the problem lies in the bearings. I picked up a trim router from harbor frieght for 27.00 and a spare one that works fine.

I've been cutting lithos mainly and a 30deg v-bit with a 1/4"end mill work fine. ball nose is good but if you check the time to cut it does take a while longer. Whatever your happy with works. check out my cuts on the joes cnc completed work pieces. Here's one...

The Bosch router works good, there are a few people who use it on the 4x4 Hybrid also as well as the Model 2006.
    Thanks,
    Joe
