V-carve Aztec Calender on 3d surface?

I was just wondering if there is a way to to V carve on a 3d surface?

For example, if i started with a done like a pop bottle lid and then wanted to carve the aztec calendar into the dome, but instead of cutting the v carve calendar as a flat surface it followed the shape of the dome for cut depth?

    Any ideas?

You will have to map the surface using a probe. I used this program to vcarve on rounded surface once.

You import or create the 3D surface, and then in the V Carve toolpath, you choose the project to 3D model option.
