    CNC Hydraulic Chuck help

Im working on a Doosan Puma 3100, it has a hydraulic chuck so im forced to use soft jaws for shafting etc. Ive read the manual and i cant find it anywhere but is there a limiter switch or servo etc on the chuck that stops it from compressing after a certain amount of PSI. So say i have a set of jaws but theyre for 2.5 inch bar can i put a 2.625 bar or a 2.375 bar in there safetly?

There should be a pressure adjustment on the hydraulic manifold to adjust the chuck pressure. The grip range is limited by the jaw travel. You just need to measure the travel. Normally it's best to machine the jaws to grip the part at mid travel.
