    Monitor/Keyboard arms

Does anyone know of a good (read : cheap) source for extending arms to mount an LCD monitor and tray for the keyboard and mouse?

    Something like this:

That particular one was listed at something ridiculous like $350 but I would like to find something simpler around the $50 mark.

I may end up doing just that but I was hoping to save some time.

    build one =]

I used a touchscreen for mine so I didn't need a mouse. The black button is PC power and the red is an err enable for the drivers. I also added 2 USB ports but 1 is used by the keyboard.

And the back, made a bracket so I could move it out of the way.

Not sure about your location, but Fry's Electronics is local to me & they also sell online .. I've looked at some pretty nice arms in the store that were in the $60 to $90 range.

    Monitor arms are easy.

Keyboard arms are harder, because you'll be typing on them. A cheap arm will start bouncing, and will rapidly annoy you. Been there, done that.

One of the best I've seen so far is the Tormach arm. It's not cheap, but it's pretty good.

If you make your own, overbuild it. You'd be surprised how much torque a single key press will exert when the keyboard is at the end of a three foot arm.

well the peerless one is closer. Thanks for the links and ideas. I may just try to create my own arm. If it fails miserably I can always pay out the nose for a good solution I guess.
