I have an EzTrak mill with the early "outrigger arm/rack & pinion" Z axis drive (circa 1995 vintage w/PC based conrol). I was told that Bridgeport retrofitted these to a newer style drive (Elrod????) to eliminate Z axis chatter/accuracy issues.

I'd like to install an Elrod-like drive to yield true 3 axis CNC but business is a bit slow and funds are tight. Does anyone have detailed drawings/plans/bill of materials for a Z axis drive that is Elrod-like in execution???

Not looking to stiff Elrod but I am looking to salvage what I can from what I have plus econmomically update to what Bridgeport probably should have used in the first place...
