What is the approx size of pattern, does it require any cores?
    What grade of aluminium alloy?

I have only been casting for the last couple of years, I generally cast into silicate bonded sand ( 80 mesh ), this does give quite a rough finish but takes
    paint well.

My max casting weight is about 1.5Kg ( limited by the size of crucible ).

Hmm I cast at home but theres no way I could cast something that large, My maximum poor including risers and sprue is one liter of molten aluminum. And when your frame go over a certain size, you have major problems keeping enough weights on the mold to keep it from blowing out.

    Try contacting
    castinghobby@***********.com <castinghobby@***********.com>

there are a lot of members worldwide, someone on the castinghobby list should be able to do work of this size, if not they will know of a commercial shop that can do it.

Give Angeles Aluminum Foundry, in Los Angeles a call. (323-268-0145)
They can do any kind of sand cast parts, from little skateboard trucks, to off-road transmission housings and bell housings. If you are not in the So. Calif. area, you could probably send the patterns by UPS, and take it from there.
