Talking Need the right Laser tool

I am a jewelry artist looking for the right tool. I need a machine that can cut metal from 316l stainless steel to fine karat gold possibly platinum as well. Small cut envelope of 12" x 12" or so
Looking to cut max thickness of 0.125" May be interested in Building my own- does anyone have any advice for a green horn.

    Thanks

Bad news Paul. Cutting any metals with a laser is going to cost mega $$$.
I don't know if waterjet systems are suitable for fine work but I think the only economic alternative would be a spindle type CNC machine.

    Tweakie.
CNC is only limited by our imagination.

water jet is not out of the question- I have had good results thus far with laser
from my understanding for best results with a water jet I would need a suitable sacrificial support material. That would be no problem I would probably use acrylic so I can see the metal for the tool start point. (don't want to use more material or wast anything at 14000/ounce LOL The water jet would probably make material reclamation easier as well.

any ideas for a small water table?

    Thanks

    Paul
