    Spindle coast to stop?

We have a kiwa excel center 4 with fanuc 10m controller. During a program cycle if the spindle is 4000 rpm or higher, and it tries to move to next step a fault occurs because the spindle is still rotating. I don't know if it's coasting or not decelerating fast enough. Any ideas on how to adjust the spindle stop or other possible fix?

    did it used to work?

ur description sounds like an overvoltage error. is there a db resistor on top of your machine cabinet in a metal cage? or inside the cabinet? You might check that its wires are hooked to the spindle drive or look for a fuse in series with these wires that popped. If you need to run and can afford a longer decel time, program that and you might get away without the error.

Thanks Mike it was a fuse in the back section of the spindle drive. I had checked this fuse while machine was running and had voltage on both sides. The fuse has a diode figure on it. Not sure how it is designed in the circuit.
