Introducing the Pinnacle Series X2 bench mini-mill from KDN Tool & Automation Engineering Co LLC. Built upon over two years of worldwide experience with retrofitting the Sieg X2 mini-mill, the Pinnacle Series is offered in three levels of completion. First level, the base camp, offers three-axis ball screw actuation with single pre-loaded ball nuts. Ball screws are 5/8” DIA 5TPI with a .0003”/1” lead accuracy. Ball screw thrust load is handled by a pair of grooved-race ball thrust bearings with 2000+lbs dynamic load rating each. The bearings are pre-loaded and secured with a lock nut. Ball screw to motor coupling is via one “Oldham” style anti-backlash slotted disc coupling per axis. Standard axis drive motor mounting plates mate with NEMA 23 motors and NEMA 34 motor plates are available as an option. We utilize a direct drive motor coupling arrangement that takes advantage of a stepper motors low-end torque parameters. We have teamed with the Steele Company to include a variation of their two step pulley spindle drive configuration yielding whisper quiet 0-1700 and 0-4300 RPM ranges. The stock Sieg spindle motor speed control has been replaced with an American made industrial quality speed control facilitating interface with a 0-10 VDC control signal that can be provided by cnc software. We offer an interface board that is designed to connect between DeskCNC and 0-10VDC input as well.
