Question Cannot figure out what this is called for the life of me.

I found these in a shop auction and cannot fine anything about them anywhere

All I do know is that they came from the Aircraft industry and the following:

OPT ACS ADJ ROT SCALE HOLDER

    and

    OPT ACS PARTIAL SPHERE OT25

Other than that I am clueless.

The ball is about 3.5" in diameter.

ANY help with this would be wonderful. Thank you.

Just off the top of my head ( take it for what's it's worth) OPT is usally short for optical, scale I'm thinking gyro or something of that nature. Sent an e-mail to my bro and should hear back within a day or so.

    Smile here ya go

Just got word from my bro that he's pretty sure ( that means it's 98% ) that those are from a calibration tool used for aircraft navigation. Kind of a caliper for the nav system. in the mid 70's they would actually stick a sexton out of the top of the aircraft to check the stars to see if the nav equipment was working correctly. Don't know what part it's from exactly but thats a start.

    Chris:cheers:
