Cheap V GROOVE Bearings. (For sale, possibly)

Recently I found this guy who is prepared to sell me some V bearing copies of the Hepco type. Similar to what is found in the picture below. I have used this type of bearing on my machine and it works fine for a cheap linear system. I also note that this is the same type of bearing that shopbot uses on their compercially sold machines.

He will sell me a minimum order of 100 units.
I have not seen the bearings but belive they are as good as the Hepco brand.
When I built my machine i payed an arm and a leg for them $50 AU each.

If I did buy 100 units would any of you be prepared to buy them from me for 10 US each? Depending on the responce I get will determine if I buy them.

My only hesitance with these bearings is that they are made in China. Although that doesnt nesecarily mean they are bad quality.

    This was his last email.

    Code:
    Dear Benny,

Thanks for your quick reply, if you need only 100pcs, I will make the quotation
    agagin, that is USD 6,18.

Also please make me clear you need is with the metal shield or rubber seal?

The steel is SAE 521000, these are the same as Hepco, they are Hepco copy.

Do you have your express mail account number? if have please make me know.
And also show me your detailed information of address, tel and fax.

    Thanks.

UH, I order from china all the time and it depends on weight, for bearings it would be under 40.00 for speedpost.

I have bought myself some copys of the Bishop vee bearings and the bushing that go with them.

    Great prices.

    16 pcs GW2 Bearing @ $11.07 each = $177.12
    8 pcs B2 Bushing, Stationary @ $1.20 each = $9.60
    8 pcs B2X Bushing, Adjustable @ $2.39 each = $19.12

For these items go to www.superiorbearings.com, I dealt with Rick, good bloke. Can't go wrong. Postage to QLD was only $24. Note these are all USD prices.

Here is an example of the price I would have to pay if I bought them from Australia.

16 off W2XC $819.46 inc. GST these are the genuine Bishop prices
That is about $51.21 each AUD

They also sell non-genuine bearings, like the ones we are talking about. But there is only like $3-4 difference from the genuine bearings.

    Here are there prices for the bushings;

    8 off B2 $48.40 Inc GST = $6.05each AUD (compared to $1.20USD)
    8 off BX2 $96.89 Inc GST = $12.12each AUD (compared to $2.39USD)

These prices are from a mob called TEA TRANSMISSIONS. In Tiaro in QLD. Type their name in google and they will come up(google Australia option).

I had also priced up some track. It works out about the same to get it from the USA as opposed to here in OZ. The freight for me to get 3.5m lengths was somthing like $5-600USD. Although these tracks came predrilled from the USA. Where as the TEA TRANSMISSIONS track, are genuine bishop wirecarver track, they do not come drilled though.

I have bought tracks for the top and bottom. I have drilled holes every 3" as per reccomendations by the instruction guide lines.

Yeah so I have saved a fair bit of cash by shopping around and buying from elsewhere.

    Cherrs all,

I definitely want to try out some Vee bearings.

Benny, are you considering shipment to the US?

Apples, I can not get your link to work. Do you have a company name?

Here is another link that is selling them state-side for $15.

Try this link for the bearings.

http://www.superiorbearing.com/ ,looks like I had an 's' on the end of the other link than caused it not to work.

    lolailando,

I am having 4 bearing per length of 2 tracks. ie 2 beaings for top track and 2 bearings for bottom track.

Here are quoted prices for track.

    4 off T2-3500 $1057.06 inc. GST
    2 off T2-2000 $320.02 Inc. GST
    1 off T2-1000 $75.50 Inc. GST
This is genuine bishop track from TEA TRANSMISSIONS Australia. in oz dollar.

    T2HD-3.5m = Size 2 Track, Hardened, Drilled, 3.5 meters long @ $97.92 each = $391.68
    T2HD-2.0m = Size 2 Track, Hardened, Drilled, 2.0 meters long @ $55.96 each = $111.92
    T2HD-1.0m = Size 2 Track, Hardened, Drilled, 1.0 meters long @ $27.99 each = $27.99

This is from www.superiorbearing.com. in us dollar.

I will post some updated pics of my plasma table that I have used the track and bearings so you can all get an idea of how I have done it.

    Cheers,
