Question Two control boards for 4th axis.

Hi. I am trying to add a 4th axis (nema 17) to a pcnc 770, which will to be used for a 3d printer attachment on the side of the z-axis. I was wondering if I could use a separate control board (using USB) to work in unison with the existing xyz-axis in Mach3? I am using the parallel port for the cnc. Thank You

No, use can't use the USB port, but you can add a second parallel port. I don't know if the Tormach version of Mach3 will support it, though.

The 770 is "pre-wired" for a 4th axis. If you are currently only using 3 axis, you have one more axis available to you before you have to start adding ports. Look into the Tormach documentation for adding a 4th axis (rotary table) for wiring diagrams, etc. You would then control it via the "A" axis in Mach.

    Hope this helps-
