    Hitachi NES1-022SB Wiring question

    Hey Folks,

We just bought a Hitachi NES1-022SB and I have a basic wiring question. The instructions tell me to attach a single phase 200v line to the VFD on L1 but we have a standard US single phase 220 line that uses 110 in two wires. The last 2 VFDs I have installed used both 110V wires on 2 terminals to get the 220V. This hitatchi is different with only power terminal. What do I do now because, I have two power wires and only one terminal on the VFD?

I have picts if you need them.

    Thanks,
    Chris

The NES1 manual shows RST (L1/L2/L3) input and mention using L1 & L2 if 1 phase?
    UVW to motor.
Don't forget the Earth Ground wire.
Post a pic in case yours is slightly different?

It says to run the two wires to L1 and N, if I'm reading it correctly.

I think I figured it out. The 2 hot wires go to L1 and the N terminals. I just got confused because traditional single phase 220 has 2 hot, 1 neutral and a ground wire.

They also cater to those countries that have one side of the 240v as Earthed Neutral.

Only when you need 110V as well, like an electric dryer or oven. For something like a 220V air compressor, you just have the two hot and ground.
