What does the G901 PLL step pulse multiplier do?
What does the G901 PLL step pulse multiplier do?
Thanks for asking that question. I was on their site the other night and have no idea what it is.

No greater love can a man have than this, that he give his life for a friend.
Basically it converts a G201 to a G210.
The G201 requires 10 step pulses input to make one full motor step, and thats fixed. By removing a IC and replacing it with the G901 you can select the original 1/10th microsteps, 1/5th ms, half step or full step input, while the drive outputs 1, 2, 5 or 10 microsteps, making your steps smoother.
Its the same board thats in the G210, and allows an easy/inexpensive upgrade over buying new drives for owners of the G201.
I've been gathering parts for a CNC Router for a While, and asked Mariss if the board was available (on CAD_CAM_...) a while back. He said he was going to put them on his site, and aparently has. I plan on building my router this winter and I'll be getting a set for my G201s.
This has probably been answered elsewhere on the board, but at least now its where new members (like me) can find it easily while scouring the board for info.
Great board, Thanks CNCadmin!
