    Exclamation ethernet smoothstepper w/ pmdx-126 board

    okay,
    for the love of God, i have read the pmdx-126 manual and gone through it and try as I might i cannot figure out how to configure the pmdx-126 for the ess that I am using with mach 3. surely one of you guys has done this and can help me figure this out before i drown myself in a dirty truckstop toilet and end it all!! Thanks in advance-Andy

    Andy,
    The only thing that needs to be configured is how the ESS is powered. On page 12 of the pmdx manual explains the jumpers on the pmdx and the jumpers of the ESS. This is of coarse after you have connected the ribbon cables between the two boards.

    The ESS can also mount directly on the PMDX-126, saving space and simplifying installation.

    Follow the instructions on the PMDX-126 for how you are going to power it. Make sure you note which ribbon cable is which from the ESS (That got me in the beginning). Then set up as per PMDX manual and Mach3. I have this exact set up with Leadshine AM882 drivers and it runs like a dream. The folka at smooth stepper helped with a few issues and ended up writting a new driver for the ESS from the data we collected (I collected via wire shark and they knew what it meant).

    Make sure you have your system set up properly for the proper port and it all should run fine. Also make sure you have not set up pull out that you don't need.

    Do i neeed to worry about extended modes or just stick with normal mode, Thanks a bunch-CAM
