Do you guys know of a setting on Haas mills that will tell the machine the door is open. Currently we have the door safety switches removed and the setting turned on to alow running with the door open, but for some reason the machine thinks that the door is closed and will not let me take tools out of the spindle.

The switches are required to tell the machine whether the door is open or closed.

When you "removed" the door switches, did you take them completely out and unplug them from the connector? Or are they connected but hanging out of the way somewhere?

The switches are removed completly.

It depends on the year of the machine. On older machines setting 51 can be changed to run with the doors open but on newer machines there is no setting 51 so you have to figure out another way.

When you unplug the switches the control sees the signal as if they are closed. You will need to jumper them to make the machine see them as open then you will have to use setting 51 to override.
