Question How to hook up a power supply

I am building my first cnc router. I have a TB6560 board and to different sets of motors nema17 and nema23. Can I use a pc power supply to run these motors? I believe there are enough amps to run the nema17 motors but not so sure about the nema23 motors. Is it possible to use to pc power supplies? Can I hook them both into the board? Obviously I am trying to be cheap and not buy another power supply. If I have to I will but I just wanted to see if I could use what I have on hand. Thanks for any help. Please contact me if you need more info from me.
    Thanks and God Bless,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew

depending on the design of the power supply you may have to load the +5v output by connecteng a 5 ohm 10W resistor
(between a black wire and a red wire ) to obtain +12V from the yellow wires

the voltage regulator primarily monitors and regulates the + 5V supply

if your using an ATX supply you will need to connect the green power ON wire to one of the black 0V wires to switch ON the supply

    see here :-
    http://www.electronics-tutorials.ws/...ch-supply.html

running the stepper driver off a 12V supply will limit the maximum speed you can step the motors

there is an issue if you want to connect two power supplies in series to get 24V
the black 0V wires are connected to the earthed metal case of the power supply
