Help! One single shaft stepper to drive y axis.

I mistakenly purchased a 3 stepper kit, all of them with a single shaft. Now I am confronted with a design issue of how to drive the Y axis. The design I'm following is the Haynes cnc. It asks for a dual shaft stepper for the Y axis. I'm using #35 roller chain and sprockets on either side. The question is how to drive the shaft for these sprockets with one stepper with a single shaft.

How can I integrate a single shaft, single stepper solution for the Y axis? I considered timing belt and pulleys, but its going to cost more than I budget allows. Is there a cheap solution to this problem?

To make matters worse, the stepper shafts are 14mm diameter. The Y axis shaft for the outer sprockets is 1/2".

I know, if only I purchased a dual shaft stepper...

    Thanks in advance!

Buy a dual-shaft stepper.... cheaper than a timing belt, two pulleys, and fabbing a plate to hold all of it.
