    Talking Version 19

    Hi guys,
I know that there are a lot of customers that are waiting for the Version 19 software. The good news is that it is ready! We just launched our new website and demos are available! Have at it! Download it! Beat it up! Make chips! Then have a cold one! Let me know what you think! When you download the demo, the demo manual and quick start guide download with it. If you have any questions, I will try to make myself more available here to answer them. Or, just call me directly at 877-262-2231 x12.
    Enjoy!

I'm unable to open the "Lessons & Tutorials"...any suggestions?

*never mind...I just got a call from BobCAD...apparently no one can open it just yet. Problem should be solved by this afternoon.

    Lessons

    Hi Jennifer!
Right-click your mouse on the desktop and select REFRESH. This should handle that problem. If Not I will personally email you the lessons myself. We are already on this. Should be fixed in less than an hour. If you have any questions as you go through it, just call me at 877-262-2231 x12.
    Sincerely,
    CNC Dude

    Great Jennifer!
You must have XP eh? 2000 isn't that easy. We are fixing it as I write. Anyone needing demo manuals can email me directly at [email protected] and I will email them back both the Quick Start Guide and Demo Manual.

    Lightbulb Ctrl+Z for UNDO

    TIP#1:

To add a ctrl+Z do the following:

    1. Select the Special/NC CAM menu and then choose RECORD SCRIPT and then MENU CONFIGURATION from the sub-menu.
    2. Under Menu Type enter CAD.
    3. Under Number of Menu Levels check #2.
    4. Menu level 1 needs to be set to 1.
    5. Menu Level 2 needs to be set to 5.
    6. Key: Z (not the #2...use the letter Z)
    7. Check the Ctrl option and un-check Alt.
    8. Select EDIT and you should be good to go.

    Lightbulb Generate Toolpath

    TIP #2:

Before GENERATE TOOLPATH will be available for use in the Solids menu, you must first select a surface or solid model to be machined. Then you will see the Generate Toolpath function available for selection.

The demo manual will show you a fast way to machine a model using the QuickCAM1.cad file from your samples folder.

Hey CNCdude, its great to get such a great level of response to feedback thru you here. a sugestion for your tutorials, a video would be nicer than having to run thru the steps. or a newbie half the frustration is in running back and forth between teh program & the lessons. would be kinda nice to see someone do it first before trying it myself.

    cnc dude,

The new web page where the ver. 19 features are listed, boasts of zlevel roughing and finishing, and of zlevel spiral roughing and finishing. I am interested in how you accomplish the zlevel spiral tool path generation. I don't see the option, nor is it listed in the demo lesson or quick start guide. Any one else interested in this feature?

    answers....

Thanks for the input on videos. I did the V17 & V18 training videos and will be doing V19 videos as well. I just need a couple more arms!

Mortek: V19 offers the same spiral surface toolpath in the SKIN operation that Version 18 offers. If you have a solid or surface you can use the extract edges functions to produce wireframe geometry quickly for use with the skin surface operation. This Z-Level (spiral) toolpath option will be added to the Generate Toolpath wizard at a later date along with many other toolpath or surface options. Remember, when you create a spiral skin toolpath, the roughing toolpath generated in the CAM is the same, it's just roughing toolpath. Call me if you have any questions about this. I can even walk you through producing this toolpath over the phone.

Sorry about those demo manuals. We should have this resolved by now. Jared worked on it all night as he did the night before as well. That dude gets the beer!

Version 19 Demo manual & quick start guide

I just wanted to let everyone know that we added the demo manual and quick start guide in PDF format to the SAMPLES folder of the demo when you download the V19 demo.......(man this coffee is good!)....rather than have it load up as another folder on the desktop. Hope that helps.

    Hi,
For that problem opening the manuals and tutorials, I just right clicked on the shortcut icon and retyped the location of the folder and now it always opens showing the optional files. I suppose it could directly open the PDF files by having one of those as the shortcut assignment.
