    Talking visual inspection.

One would think this scale would be heavy, but its not. Probably only weighs a mere 75 pounds, and is made out of a lot of sheet metal. overall its in great shape and includes what appears to be all the counter weights. I've never tried to fix a manual scale, but i figure that can't be to much missing that i can't rebuild or replace.

Appears to need a good cleaning, paint, and some DIY tinkering.

    Good weekend project.

    Sunday scale day.

Further investigation showed that im missing a small flat steel hangar. There are suppose to be 4 total, but i only have 3. No clue where the 4th went to. Easy, enough though to fab one out of aluminum or steel plate. Ill just use one of the others as a copy cat. I'll give it a few days for the paint to fully cure and ill fab it up. I used a black plastic spray coating on the actual scale base, and an industrial red oil based paint (sherwin williams, safety red) for the body. The weights got plastic sprayed also, and the wheels got cleaned and greased.

Project should be done next weekend.

then on to the next restore.

Fab pics, befores, and afters soon to come.

Here are the finished pics. Turned out GREAT!! Just gotta wait for the paint to harden up a bit more. Once the paint has fully cured, i can rip fab that missing part and ill be good to go. I'll also throw on a few new decals.
