Machine is a SL-0H w/ Fanuc 3-T control. When I press the spindle forward button in jog/handle mode nothing happens. In MDI mode with s500-> m3->start, the cycle start LED turns on but spindle still doesn't spin. i have the ladder diagram and it lists address 48.0 as the 'spindle forward (output)' and that turns to changes to 1 after the spindle forward button is pressed, so i assume that all the conditions for the spindle to start have been fulfilled? no alarm codes on the control or the spindle drive. any ideas of what else i should check before calling a tech to come out?

Our SL-1 had a similar problem when we bought it. I took a closer look at the motor and it had who knows how many years of oil buildup from coolant overflows. We pulled the motor, disassembled it and cleaned it up, replaced the brushes and now it runs good as new. I'd recommend checking out the brushes first thing, then move on to power supply/motor control.
