I bought a cheap K40 Laser (i know tyou get what you pay for) but i am looking forward to modding it and turning it into my own

The problem i am having is that as it moves from left to right it seems to drop power, i.e cutting a 150mm square will only cut the left lines, the right dont go deep enough, and when engraving the right side is so faint you cant see it but the left is perfect.

Is this something i can fix maybe with focusing or alignment or is it more likely to be software.

Read up on posting about laser alignment. The laser beam must focus near the center of the lens at all locations.

Thanks Dean, I have finaly realigned the laser, and it is engraving correctly
Now i need to figure out why i t wont cut 3mm Ply anymore, it did it like a knife through butter yesterday for the first few then it wont cut all the way through, ive set it to 10 sec and almost full power.
