Hi Guys,

I've been a lurker for a while and am hoping to start buying parts for my own G0704 CNC build soon (Already bought and read through Hoss's plans). I see that a few people have used the Shop Fox, or some other mobile base, and with all of the steppers, head spacers, 3 Phase Motors, power drawbar, and all of the other enhancements to the base G0704 are you still able to use the mobile base without wobble / stability issues? Any mods to the base itself to make it more stable? Did you loose any precision or get additional chatter from using the base?

I've used the Shop Fox mobile base under the stock G0704 stand since initial setup. I've done all the mods and added lots of weight with a larger motor, cnc kit, spacers, fog buster, etc. The base has been very stable. Throughout all the mods it's been great to wheel the mill around to access the column and other parts easily. When the feet are down the base is very stable. The weak link is the stock Grizzly stand which has some flex. A few days ago, I rolled the mill a few feet forward for a good shop vac'ing under and around it. Was thankful for the base.
