Hi all. My VFD will show 11,500 as the max RPM for a 24000 spindle. PD-002 is set to 2. I've looked at a hundred threads here and can't find anything about RPM showing on the VFD. I'm using the 110v 2.2kw water-cooled VFD and spindle set. I would like to know the RPMs I'm turning. Can someone give me a hand?

I'm not familiar with the Huanyang, but as far as I know, VFDs only report the frequency they're putting out, not the RPMs that result. If you need that information, you'll need to put an encoder on the shaft (which can be a single dot or magnet) and use a tachometer to count revolutions. If you only need a rough approximation of RPM, you can use a formula or look it up on a chart. awerby is right, most VFDs show the frequency rather than rpm.

There is a small wrinkle in that.

With a two pole motor (one pole pair per phase, if your engineering school uses that terminology, as mine did) then when you apply 400Hz you'd expect the spindle to do 24000rpm, less a little for slip,
typically 23500 rpm. Note that the slip varies quite considerably depending on load. You can program your VFD to display the commanded frequency, and in most cases can display the frequency LESS THE SLIP.
If programmed this way you might direct the VFD produce 400Hz, but it would display 391, being the revolutions per second or 391 x 60 =23500 rpm.

This is an example of my Delta MS300(High Speed) VFD, from the manual. Note how you can choose the commanded frequency OR the motor frequency, with the motor frequency being the actual motor
speed in revolutions per second.

What model of the VFD you have? Mine is Huanyung HY02D223B-VFD

If you look at attached picture and you vfd front look the same than all you have to do is push SHIFT button and it will rotate between Hz-A-ROTT
