I'm a new member and wanted to say Hi. My Daytime job is 3D packaging and display design (make stuff out of corrugated cardboard).
I have so many designs and ideas that I wanted to try in wood so I have made the decision to get a CNC mill. I have decided to get a XYZ-carve kit. I went this way for a couple of reasons. Firstly I have had no experience with CNC machines (or any others) and thought it would be greatly beneficial to know the machine and it's parts inside out. And secondly I thought I could get a better machine if I put it together myself and have limited funds.
From what I have seen most people are more into the machines and how they run or upgrading them, than the design side. Are there many designers out there?
I'll leave it at that for now.
Happy Cutting.
