    heidenhain controls

    i finally got my bp2 running and have been trying to program it . today when i powered it up it wouldn,t home. i tried it several times. any ideas????
    none of the axis move and shows only manual on the screen along with x y z thanks Dar

    What happens if you press and hold in the power enable button? Do the drives come up? can the axis move then? This bypasses the limit switches. It may indicate a broken wire or bad swtch in this "string."

    Or, I think, low way oil.

    Also my R2C3 the contacts in the power relay get dirty every few years and need to be cleaned off or it won't self hold

    Do you have compressed air connected? My Interact grumbled without it !

    limit problem?

    I had a problem on powerup, I had rapid moved the machine to a limit before shutdown and on start up it wanted me to move the axis to initialise but it wouldn't respond, took a lot of head scratching but the solution is to use the limit bypass switch to move the table off the end stop and all has been well since, learnt not to shut down with machine on limits

    thanks for the advice. today i decided to try it one more time and when i hit the button z went up x ran to the end and then y worked???????
    i think my problem aside from knowing very little about cnc machines is this machine is female andits tempermental.
