    Wrong dimmension

My fadal have an error of 0.5mm error dimmension in soft matterial(al) and goes to 1mm in mild steel.(I need correction 1mm to have good dimension).
Maybe someone can help me from where to start for a good diagnosis.

    Best regards and.merry Christmas

It sounds like a combination of backlash and tool deflection. Have you tried measuring the backlash (the distance traveled by the motor before engaging the screw when it changes direction)? How long is your tool and what diameter is it? The longer and thinner the tool you use, the more it will tend to deflect when pushed against the material, and the harder the material is, the worse it can be.

Tool D8, Z4, HELIX 45degree(I know is not the best for Al)-carbide L 10mm out of holder.
    AP 8MM
    Ae 0.8mm
Contour operation... error 0.5mm, material AL 6083.

I think deflection is not the answer. :-???

It kind of sounds like your Gibs are out of adjustment. If this is a Boxway machine there is 2 on each axis. To tighten a fadal Gib you turn counterclockwise. Or it could be the Thrust bearings went bad. All Fadal manuals can be downloaded for free from several dealers here is one Fadal Manuals | ItsCnc.com
