You can specify length and material. Here is an example for a quote on a 1/2"-5, 2-start 0.20" lead acme screw in stainless steel cut to 29.63", right hand thread, no nut and no end machining, standard lead accuracy of +/- 0.0003"/in:
"Qty 1, 055-RS/00/00/29.63/00000/S, $69.99 net, in stock"
Download the Acme screw catalog so you can figure out the part number. They are very responsive.

I used roton for my screw purchases. All of the others I looked at were limited to a 6' length. Only thing to understand is that you have to have a $60.00 + order for the online store.
I purchased my threaded rod at www.use-enco.com
it was around $10 for 6' and S&H was reasonable...
