This is my first time working this in depth with encoders and I could use some help. The encoder i ordered has 8 leads coming off of it and the closed loop stepper driver i have to move it only has 6 inputs for the encoder. The motor has EA+/-, EB+/-, and EZ+/- and the driver only has the EA and EB connections so two less. What does this mean? Did i miss something in the data sheet? am i good to just omit the two EZ leads from the encoder?
Both the data sheet for the motor and driver are attached. I didn't see anything

Hi,
Yes, the drive does not use the index pulse lines (EZ+ and EZ-) so you can just ignore them. Only the A and B inputs are needed.
