Help : Can someone Convert my stp files to G-code ?

    Hello,

A friend made a 3D model of a guitar in stp

The problem is that my cnc only reads G-code or .nc files can someone convert it ?

    I really don't know anything about G-code.

    Best regards,

    Patrick.

Can't help with the conversion but Fusion 360 is free for hobby users and small businesses and you can import the stp files and create G-code output for most machines.

Gcode for a 3d printer Slic3r is the only thing simple enough to be done easily without you providing a lot more information, and Slic3r is free and relatively easy to use to generate the gcode for your printer.

You cannot just make g-code form CAD files. You need CAM software, and tell the CAM software what bits you want to use, and what speeds, depths of cut, etcetera. You can get something like Fusion360 which is free for non-commercial use, open the files there, and create the necessary g-code. Also, what g-code is good for my machine may not be good for yours, how it's set up, it's rigidity or lack thereof, heed and rapids speeds. You should learn first these things before operating your CNC.

Also he has the top and back as separate files. Typically, the top wood is glued to the back wood FIRST, then the back machined, then flipped and the top machined, or vise versa.
