Hello. I am curious about replicating an old way of making watch dials (in spirit). My process has been using toner transfer or photoresist on to polished brass discs, then electroplating with black nickel, then removing the toner transfer or photoresist revealing a polished brass design beneath. I have had success doing this but its not consistent. I came across people using lasers to create watch dials and was wondering if a laser could get me what I am aiming for on a more consistent basis.

Since I am not looking to cut metal, but just remove a thin surface layer of black nickel to reveal the brass beneath, could I use a C02 laser to achieve this?
