Is there an M code for Z-axis brake?

    Hi there,
I have a lovely 1995 Partner 7 with the z-axis servo brake (SEM servos). Is there any way to activate this brake with an M code, or do I have to physically get into the wiring? I'm getting ready to mill a few cylinder heads for the first time since 2014 (yay 30" Y travel!) and I'm noticing about a tenth dither on a DTI and the following error screen. I know it really doesn't matter, but if possible I'd rather just lock it down. Otherwise, I can turn the gains down a bit on the Z axis.
    Thanks!

It would depend on how the brake is integrated into the machine’s control system.
If the brake is controlled by a relay tied to the CNC controller, it might be possible to assign an M code to control that relay.
However, if the brake is purely mechanical or not wired to the control, you’ll need to modify the wiring to achieve this.

Well, that reminds me, I checked this long long ago and just forgot. The Z axis brake is wired into the E-stop circuit on this machine, so no M code can activate it. Thanks Chinese friend!
