Shop Air Cleaner For Plasma Cutting

To provide cleaner shop air, when using a CNC plasma cutting table, which system do you prefer?

Some Considerations: -downdraft through the table with outdoor exhaust

    -overhead canopy with exhaust

-local pickup at torch to exhaust

    -electronic air cleaner

Your thoughts & comments on this important issue would be appreciated

Good question, I've been thinking about this lately too. I want to eventually build a table for my brothers ESAB Plasma and was trying to figure out some sort of system that didn't cost an arm and a leg yet worked.

    Water table...
On all equipment there are 2 levers...
    Lever "A", and Lever F'in "B"

A water table is one method I hadn't mentioned.

Can anyone suggest some design considerations for such a system & its' use?

Perhaps water depth, proximity to cutting surface, effectiveness of air cleaning or other items.

I knew about the water table but for me it really isn't a good option. The machine will only be used periodically in the first place (unless I start getting some business) so with having to deal with water sitting in the table for long periods of time just doesn't cut it (no pun intended ). I have thought about some sort of closed off table that had some sort of evacuation system from a pipe that would be hooked up to the inlet on a squirrel caged blower and dumped outside.
