Considering Bodor vs HSG for 12kW Plate + 6kW Tube Laser – Real-World Feedback Wanted

    Hi all,

I'm the director of a metal fabrication company based in Ireland, and we’re in the market for two new laser systems:

A 12kW flatbed (3x1.5m) machine for cutting mild steel, stainless, and aluminium plate.

A 6kW dedicated tube laser (round and square profiles, structural work, 7.6m length, ideally with auto-loading).

We're currently looking closely at Bodor and HSG, both of which are offering competitive specs and packages.

I'm looking for genuine, operator-level or ownership-level feedback on either brand — especially in terms of:

    Reliability and downtime issues

Cut quality on mixed material and thicknesses

Software & controller usability (nesting, tube design, CAD/CAM integration)

    After-sales support in Europe

Any hidden maintenance surprises or parts availability issues

Would also love to hear if anyone has run both flatbed and tube machines from the same brand.

Appreciate any real-world input before we sign on the dotted line.

1You need to understand whether their accessories are non-standard products, which means that you can find cheap substitutes on the market after the warranty period.
2They are all assembly manufacturers. Boder ranks first in global shipments, and HSG's quality is also in the first echelon in China.
3I think you should consider the after-sales issue and see which one can give you a promise.
4The laser brand is also very important
