    huanyang fc01 wiring/programing help

hello, i have a hunyang fc01 2.2kw vfd that is giving me fits and i need to see if anybody has had experience with this one before. what i am trying to do is run it from linuxcnc using vfd.

right now i have almost everything working except being able to actually start it. it is wired from a mesa 7i96 using a pwm channel for frequency control and a ssr channel for spindle on. the vfd goes to a vfd to 0-10v dc converter which is wired to gnd and AI. the ssr is wired to gnd and s1. i can control the frequency on the display from linuxcnc but when i try and actually start the spindle, i get nothing. i know its something in the programming, but for the life of me i cant find it. ive been deciphering chinglich all day and no joy. if anybody can give me a hand, i’d greatly appreciate it!

here is a link to the manual.

You must configure the VFD and tell it how it will get turned on and how speed will be commanded. Most configuration require one or two relays to issue the on command and the direction. If you want analog control for speed you must configure that in the VFD.

ok thank you for the reply! but ive set several of these up before and in theory this should be working but what im having problems with is the key for this specific vfd. it is a new one for me, but surprisingly well made for the usual chinese crap vfds out there.

all of my wiring is sound and tested, and i can change frequencies through pwm, but when i hit m3, i get nothing even though i should. my guess was that p00.01 should have allowed me to start the spindle, and S1 is set for start/stop, but it wont start either through a relay or manually jumping it. the wiring diagram says they should be pulled to ground, but even manually jumping it to ground doesnt work. but when P00.01=0, i can start it from keypad. i have to be missing something. P05.12 enables virtual terminals, but manual says thats for modbus, and im not using rs485 for spindle control

Wow they have really changed their latest VFD, many more options and much better modbus support. On the negative side the manual is confusing and configuring control mode is confusing. It appears you need to configure the s1 to S5 inputs. Search a wiki page on linuxcnc on the VFD interface. Normally the CNc software controls two relays that are wired to the VFD. The speed control needs to be wired to Analog input. I will see if I can give you clearer instructions tomorrow after I spend more time in the manual
