Phase convert meets cent 4 and partner 5

89 model, cent 4 controller, partner 5 iron. hooking up production rotary phase convertor. One "FLOATING" leg. Naturally I only want the one wild leg going to the motor, none of the transformers, controllers, etc. Looking at wiring, looks like I want the wild leg on line 3. and reconnect a couple things to other legs (electric lube, a 115VAC leg and a 110VAC outlet for high speed spindle)

Anyone wired up one of these things this way?

My Cent 5's, Partner 1 and 6 are both running off single phase. I ran the incoming line to L1 and L3 IIRC. It's L1, L2, L3 I did not run any power to L2 (the middle line). I don't know how it works or if it would work like that on yours but on mine I think the only thing that actually needs 3 phase is the spindle motor, my axis drives are dc anyway.

I run mine also on single phase. The old spindle drive required 3 phase but when I had to replace it the new one does not need 3 phase so why bother with the phase converter anymore.

You know what's really weird, I'm pretty sure both my spindle drives are 3 phase, I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure they are. One's a Safetonics G3 and the other is a Magnetek GPD515 which replaced a G3 after all the magic smoke fell out
    Figure that one out.

My original one (long gone) was also 3 phase but many/most others can be run from single phase.
