I'm looking for something small, and this fits that criteria. With all the different types of switches and such it's just overwhelming. One thing I noticed that I'm not sure of, is that the switch has 3 connectors. One for 5v, one for ground, but what about the third?

This switch would be fine .....It has the option of being used as normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC)....i.e. the three connectors. In wet environments if unprotected it may pose some problems though.

Thanks for the quick reply Bloy. I plan on mounting the X and Y switches under the machine table, so they'll be somewhat protected.

Would 5 switches be enough? 2 for limits on X and Y (1 each), then 3 for home/limits on X, Y and Z. I don't see much use in having 2 on Z axis.

I am not sure of the type of machine you are using these on, but on my mill/drill, having two limits has saved me several times!
With some tooling combinations, I find that I will exceed the lower limit and this could be a serious problem (bust another worm wheel).
Example, I have to drill a 1/2" hole and center drill it first. This will take all my quill travel to get the center drill down there and yet have enough room for the half inch drill to fit in the space (I don't want the problem of regristration when moving the head up and down)
The switch is cheaper than the worm wheel!

Bubba, excellent point. I also have a mill/drill. And for just a few bucks, I think it will be worth the piece of mind.
