I’m considering buying an older Fadal 4020 (older then 99) and running it on a rotary phase converter. The best info I’ve found so far says 4020 runs a tad over 16 KVA. Does anybody know what the KVA rating is on a 4020? Thanx.

Ran a 4020(15hp 10k) on a 20hp rotary for over a year, pushed it pretty hard, and it didn't have a problem. The converter had a problem, but it was bearing and starting circuit related, nothing related to running, and we were running a lathe off of the same converter at the same time, so....
I have a Fadal 2216 (15hp 10K) that I run on a 30hp rotary phase converter. I was told when buying a rotary phase converter to double the largest hp motor you plan to run. http://www.americanrotary.com/rotary...onverters.html If I had the extra cash, I would have bought a Digital Solid State Phase Converter, but the rotary is working just fine with no problems.
