HI folks -
Just got the below on the used market sales - both ball screws are pretty good and give 12 inch of actual motion. The slide below gives me a work around for 125mm.
so guys let me kno on which axis should I put my slide on - ????? on the Y or on the Z axis.
I have 3 Nema23 Sanyo denki motors(old ones) with a Hobby CNC controller and will go with a 1:3 reduction on this - and that will get a lot of torque on them I think!
The idea is to use laser cut parts for a bolted / welded structure.
will use a ER16 collet extender for the spindle and a 1 hp motor with VFD for the speed control.
The design is to start with modelling of the ball screws and the slide I have -
its basically a long term project - probably a year to 2.
it will certainly help me in getting done so many of my Alu parts for the things I am planning to make!
