Question HS1 software problem I think

I was running the machine and it ran the m50 at the end and rotated the pallet and the control froze and wouldnt respond to pressing any buttons. I powered it down and upon restarting the screen comes up white with random characters on the screen and doesnt repond to any buttons being pressed. I have tried turning off the main disconnect a few times and this didnt have any effect. This is the first time this machine has given any trouble. Any ideas?

Your processor is more than likely kaput and will need to be replaced. Be sure you have removed your RS232 and try again. If still the same thing call your dealer.

Thanks for the reply Loose Nut. I have did a little troubleshooting and it looks like youre correct. The halt led is on on the microprocessor board which the manual says means that there is a serious problem with the pcb. It recommends checking the eprom connection to see if its loose but in my case it is not. Does anyone happen to know where to get one other than a dealer?

Forgot to say the number of the processor is 68EC030 running at 40 MHz with 128k eprom.
