Cool OI-TB move part program load to pendant

I have a customer with a Fanuc OI-TB control who wants to move the Flash Card which is in a PCMCIA slot adapter, which he uses to install part programs, from inside a locked mag panel door to his pendant about 25 feet away. He presently has to shut down the machine to enter the panel and install his programs. He has newer Fanuc OI-TC controls which have the memory slot mounted in his operator pendant which he likes. Has anyone come up with a way to do this? I have investigated extending the PCMCIA slot or the flash card but everyone seems to think this will not work due to a voltage drop in that length of cable. Any ideas?

    PCMCIA

If there is a voltage drop it will not work. I've been trying to figure out this whole compact flash card/pcmcia adapter thing and I found out that the Fanuc controls require the card to run at 5volts. That's why there is such a problem running the newer compact flash/pcmcia adapters which are running at 3.3volts.

NP. Report back with what you find out, quite a useful mod if it's possible.
