Building my First Plasma Table - Have a couple of questions

    Hello forum,

I am building a plasma table and will be taking parts from my CNC router table to assist in the build, Z Axis, Motors, Electronics... I have (5) 48" 20 Pitch, 1/2x1/2 racks (I need (3) 1/4 bore 20 pitch gears)

I am trying to locate a system like the following:
DIY CNC Router Carriage - Lightning CNC Router & Plasma Tables
    http://www.cnczone.com/forums/ebay-a...riage-kit.html
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123

The only available set is on eBay (Turkey), but would like to source it in the USA if possible. The reason I am selecting this system is I can use 2x2 steel I can source locally and the tolerances do not have to be real strict. My projects will be 3/16 18"x22" plates with 16 bolt holes.

    Comments and direction are welcome.

After some more research, it appears more people have been looking for this kit too? I emailed the gentleman on Canada and will wait for a response.

I contacted Lightning CNC and they confirmed that they were out of stock, did not plan on getting anymore in and said the product will be removed from their website. She said it was because they have gone to extrusion.

    Sully:

Sounds like you need a table similar in size to the one I built. I made it out of 2x2 1/8" tubing and 2" angle. Its 2' x 4' and has both a downdraft system and a water table - needed both because I am running it in a cellar shop. I used belt drives with a 4:1 reduction and they have run perfectly for over 3 years. The basic table will take racks, linear rails, or belts. You can look it up on the zone under "A Different Machine - Downdraft/water table".

    Good Luck,

    Willy
