    Different bits for different tasks?

    Hello,

    For the purpose of carving say a 2x2x1" dome I hardwood what sort of bit should be used?

    Is it possible to engrave letters (a small serial code for example) into non-hardened steel using any bit in the 3040 or similar machines? What bit?
