I originally posted this in the lathe section for some unknown reason. I am sure this problem has bothered almost everyone here at some point. I have thought of a few (maybe?) good ideas and tried them over the short time I have been playing with these machines. I have used flood coolants, Kool mist and am now experimenting with a homemade fogbuster pressurized coolant tank theory system. Some have worked decent and some have not. I have built plastic walls on magnetic bases that are flexible and surround the tool 180 degrees or so and do a pretty good job. So the latest idea was to take a pair of womens panty hose and take the waist band, stretch it around the table, cut the legs off leaving the crotch panel and stretching the crotch over the spindle. I did this a few minutes ago and filmed it with my iphone. It worked very well and now that I have tested it, I have a few improvements as always. Next I will insert the vaccuum hose under it. Anyway here it is in action, first test. Note to others, if filming with an Iphone start the camera while holding it sideways. It will widen the screen. Sorry. This turned out to be a 3 part series so far just improving the camera work and the idea. Many evolutions to come.
